    Default Where is it best to look for Burma records

    Hi I am looking to try and trace My Dads records from the war in Burma circa 1940 -45. having problems even tracing him as an RAF Sergeant In any record , as he does not seem to be listed . No other info available as he always refused to speak about it whilst he was alive .

    You wont find much online, if anything on him.
    Best thing to start off first is with his service records- apply from MOD -
    https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military...cords/overview
    If you don't have his service number, full name and date of birth will do.
    Once you have that, then you can investigate more when you know what squadron he was with.

    I am having the same problem trying to find my grandad roger he does not seem to be listed either in Burma he was in the kings liverpool regiment

    Welcome to British-Genealogy.

    You don't mention a time period but I presume you're referring to WW2, or at least sometime fter 1922.
    In which case the same answer applies as given by simmo1 in post 2 - your grandfather's service records are still held by the Ministry of Defence. There's a little more detail about applying for them here.

    Once you have the service records then you can try searching for further records.
