Stockland is a small village in the Blackdown Hills in east Devon (but like its sister village Dalwood, it was once in Dorset)*.
The WW1 project is to research and publish info about the men of Stockland who were killed and those who came home - many of them from The Devonshire Regiment. The fruits of this painstaking project can be seen here: https://www.stockland.org.uk/WW1; and if you scroll down to the foot of the page, you will find that all the info can be downloaded in .pdf files.
Happy hunting if your researches take you back to Stockland.

Stockland/Dalwood info for researchers
Yes - sorry. Mea culpa...posted too hastily and too late in the evening to check.
Here, though, is more info for anyone who is researching families connected to these villages. Family Search has maps showing 1851 Jurisdictions: https://maps.familysearch.org/. (Enter village name in the search box.)
Screengrab of 1851 info for Stockland with Dalwood, from Family Search:
Here is a great deal of info about Dalwood in the 19th century: https://dalwoodhistory.co.uk/4.html. Censuses from 1841 have been transcribed very thoroughly, e.g. you will find info about the enumerators.
If you find a research name on the Stockland site, then it is worthwhile consulting the Dalwood site. The villages are so close and there will be family links.
Hope this will help someone out there.
