Has anyone heard of Irish Regiments called Dragoon Guards or Lord Strathcona's Horse? I am trying to find a friends grandfather who was Irish and in one of these Regiments in the Boer War.

Lord Strathcona's Horse is a Canadian regiment. This link explains their part in the Boer War,

Google Dragoon Guards Boer War and you will get lots of hits
Would you like to give us the man's name, when born and where so we can see if there is anything to be found.

Thank you Christina for the information. After reading your post I think I can rule out the man I'm looking for. He was Michael Barton b. 1881 (I think) in Kilkenny, Ireland and his army number was 4259. I know he was in the Boer War, family have a photo of him but I have no other information on him.

Looks like he was in the 3rd (The Prince Of Wales's) Dragoon Guards. From Find My Past but little info on him.
