Some MN records are available but the seaman's main service record CRS 10 is not. You would need to obtain that by visit to Kew or by a researcher.
If you wish to give a name, date and place of birth I can advise you where to look.

    Regards
    Hugh

Have a read of the National Archives Research Guide.

The CRS10 forms mentioned by Hugh are in series BT382 at the National Archives. You can browse the catalogue (nut not the records!).

    https://discovery.nationalarchives.go...wse/r/h/C15680

Note the access restrictions which you'll want to clear with the Enquiry Service before setting off on a trip to Kew.

    Hi Susan,

His seaman's pouch held at Kew in piece BT 372/249/116

His CRS 10 (service record from Jan, 1941) should be held at Kew in piece BT 382/958, if it has survivied.
This is best obtained by visit to Kew as expensive to get online. His file would be held in block along with up to 60 other names...you would be as well getting both the CRS 10 and Pouch on the same visit or via a researcher.

Did he live at 3 Cotswold Gdns, Eastham, London. If so I can tell you a little more about being torpedoed.

    Regards
    Hugh
