    Hi almach, thanks for your message.
    Where did you find the newspaper article as I have tried searching without luck.
    I got a Birth Certificate today for Sidney "Dallman" Blood born 1888 and registered as Sidney Dallman (no father) listed.
    His mother is shown as Elizabeth Dallman, now the wife of George Blood.
    Signature & informant Elizabeth (Dallman crossed out) Blood.
    I now think I have right person but it's changing of surname from Blood to Gray that's confusing.
    Still not found a marriage record for Elizabeth Dallman though, will keep looking.
    Thanks to every one for your replies.

    Default BLOOD GRAY family

    Robert GRAY b 5 November 1892

    Army Record Service no 25041
    Regiment York and Lancaster Regiment
    Unit / Battalion 11th Battalion includes details of marriage and children

    1939 entry

    Death 1956 Sheffield

    =================
    I should be very interested to know how sure you are about this information regarding Robert, as I have different details. I am researching for a friend surnamed GRAY who has always known about there being a name change from BLOOD in the family, and also the name DOLMAN (or variant). This friend is a descendant of Robert. I have Robert's marriage certificate in which he gives his father as George GRAY, occupation bricklayer. This marriage took place in Sunderland.

    Hi Summerliz, welcome to the Brit-Gen forums

    The records you are enquiring about were posted by member geneius, I'm unsure which Robert she's referring to but no doubt she'll be along later to answer. Perhaps the records geneius posted are for a different generation to Robert George Blood/Gray.

    Your post encouraged me to look further into this query and I have found some burial details which I'll post soon.

    Died at 64 Main Rd; Buried on February 8, 1912 in General Portion ground;

    There's quite a few SPENCER burials on the Sheffield Indexers site some of whom are probably either mentioned in this thread, or descendants of them. For instance there's this one buried in the same grave as FJB, son of Sydney.
