The following may prove useful to those seeking information on medals and awards and order of preference when wearing them.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/medals-c...nd-eligibility shows medals and ribbons, also gives eligibility for award.
Guidance Wearing of Orders, Decorations, Miniatures and Medals gives a full explanation of order of precedence. Subsection 12, right at the end is particularly useful.
There is a particularly helpful brief guide on the following site:- https://

Hi macwil,
Excellent finds.
The simplest way to break the direct link is to split the www. or https:// bit from the main part of the URL.
A copy-and-paste link (as I've now amended it to) to a commercial site is permissible.

This link may prove useful for people searching for medals awarded to British service personnel from 1810 onwards. https://

Hi macwil,
Again, another good find, but because Wikipedia have 'fund raising' days each year, I've erred on the right side and made your link non-clickable. (Might not be necessary, but best to be cautious. )

Thanks Pam,
No problem, better to be safe etc.
Didn't realise Wikipedia was that commercialised.

I never said Wikipedia was commercialised. I said I'd made the link non-clickable because Wikipedia asks for donations, and at one stage (possibly in the days when Pam Drake owned BG) I think direct links to such sites were forbidden.
Which is why I said I'd 'erred on the right side' and made the link unclickable.
If Admin say that I could have left the link as it was then I can only apologise that people will be inconvenienced by having to copy-and-paste the URL instead of just clicking.
