Default Quinn's Square / Buildings Bethnal Green

    Hi,
Does anyone have information on Quinn's Square, I have traced my Grand parents and Great Grand parents to living there in the 1880s
I am sure my grand father was involved in the Rent Strike of 1938
If any else also has ansestors that lived there, I would love to hear from you.
    Thank you

    Hi Heather,

    Have you seen this pamphlet?

It looks like it was a very solid action by the tenants, so, if your grandfather was there, he probably was involved. Have you looked for him on the FMP 1939 register?

    Peter

    Thankyou very much.

    My grand father James Windsor
    Born 11/02/1883
He was living at 31 Palm street in 1933, then I loose track of him until 1955 when he dies in an old peoples home in Hendon.
He was a very strong Socialist and was involved in many demonstrations and marches.
If you can help I would be really grateful
    Thank you

    Default Quinn’s Square

    Hi Heather

I’ve just located my maternal-grandfather’s birth certificate which gives his place of birth as 211 Quinn’s Square, Berhnal Green.
Unfortunately, I know very little about his early life.

    Regards

    Mike
