    Default Coryton Village.

Has anyone got photo's of Coryton village that date from 1950 onwards. Even a map that show the roads would be helpful or even news paper articles Road names were Freeman Avenue, Fleet Street and Church Street. Coryton was knocked down in the early 70's to make way for an extension of the nearby oil refinery. I have been researching my family history for some time now, but have decided to research the early years of my life. There is plenty of info re the refinery, but very little of the Village for the 1950's. Sadly, both my parents are dead and any photo's have long gone. I lived in Coryton from 1952 till 1957.

    Regards Phil.

Hi Megan, I have tried that site and found one photo. I will see what I can find in newspaper archives.
