Hi
I am new to this site, and was wondering whether anyone had any information on the 44th RAF squadron which operated in North Africa during 20/03/44 to 11/01/45, in particular the SAAF pilots that were flying in this squadron. I am looking for information on my Grandfather Douglas Bruce Gordon who was a South African airman. He was involved with the 44th squadron and also the 19th squadron which operated in Italy during 12/01/45 to the 9/07/45.
I have looked at the records on this site and am unable to find anything, Is there maybe another site I can try that concentrates on this topic.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards
Lee

Hi
You could see if you can find something here - https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/h...rts-1939-1945/ - certainly 44 Squadron comes up and a couple for 19.
Lots of records here for 44 squadron - https://discovery.nationalarchives.go...d=1944&_ro=any
and here for 19 squadron - https://discovery.nationalarchives.go...d=1945&_ro=any
