Hello Maple27 and welcome to the forum.

You don't say what information you are looking for; do you have both James' on census returns? What info do have and what don't you have?

I wonder if Elizabeth was James' second wife?

    1841, HO107; Piece: 983; Book: 14; Folio: 31; Page: 19;

James Russell 30, Ironstone Miner, born in Staffordshire
Ann Russell 30, not born in Staffordshire

If Elizabeth was James' second wife it's possible William born abt 1841 is not his son, but Eliabeth's born before she and James married.

And again working on supposition: a possible marriage
James Russell and on the same page Elizabeth Mason
Marriages Jun 1844, Walsall, vol 17, page 256

There is a death reg for an Ann Russell in Walsall in 1841.

    Births Mar 1841
William Mason, Walsall, vol 17, page 258.

Need some input from you now Maple27 to know whether these folks are yours

THANK YOU, I HAVE CENSUS RETURNS WHICH SHOW BOTH JAMES, WHAT I WOULD REALLY LIKE IS TO BE ABLE TO TRACE SIBLINGS OR OTHER INFORMATION. THE RUSSELLS WERE A VERY LARGE FAMILY, JAMES 1851 MARRIED SELINA BEEBEE, HER FAMILY IS ALSO VERY WIDESPREAD.
RUSSELLS ARE LISTED AS PUBLICANS, CHAIN MAKERS, ETC.

IN SHORT I AM LOOKING FOR SUB BRANCHES OF THE RUSSELLS.
    AGAIN THANK YOU.

CHECKING WHAT INFORMATION I HAVE, CENSUS FOR ,1851, 1861, 1871 YES. 1841 NO.
I AM NOT SURE WHERE THIS BRANCH ORIGINATED, COULD BE SHROPSHIRE OR STAFFORDSHIRE,
I DO HAVE THE MARRIAGE OF JAMES AND ELIZABETH 1844.
MY RECORDS AFTER JAMES 1851 IMPROVE GREATLY.
    MANY THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST

Hello MAPLE27 and welcome to the Brit-Gen forums,

I see almach has already started looking at the Russell family for you and now we know exactly what information you have and what it is you are looking we can concentrate our efforts in the right direction.

To make it easier for our members to read your posts will you please turn off your Caps Lock and use lower case letters? A post all in capital letters is very hard on the eyes. Thanks.

thanks, on the otherhand it makes it easier for me to see. that aside i am really glad to receive all of the responses, your's and almach's
i have tried frecen with little success. i get few results on ancestry and of course it is too easy to select the wrong russell and start out on a wasted journey.
i was hoping that a russell decendent might be researching.
hope you all have merry christmas.
    thanks again.
