The envelope with a padlock is your second thread headed S.S. Homeside 1941, in which you asked if anyone had photos of the crew. You need to read it, as there is a reply in it. (Well, two actually, the second being from me explaining that we don't allow duplicate/near duplicate threads. See here
    https://www.british-genealogy.com/th....homeside-1941)

This thread, the original, is just called S.S. Homeside.

    Hi Maggs,
As he died in 1941, I doubt very much there is a photo of him from MN records. I have checked and there are none I am afraid. The only way you will find out any more such as any previous ships he may have had would be to check the official logbook of the ship which would include the crew agreement. The crew agreement would usually give the seaman's previous ship. However, as the logbook and crew agreement was lost with the ship you would need to check the shoreside copy which may not be complete and may not show previous ships. The only advice I would give would be to check and see. The file is held at Kew in piece BT 381/1473

Your uncle also has a medal file at Kew in piece BT 395/1/34614 . This you can download for £3.50.

    Regards
    Hugh

Thank you so much Hugh for this information I hoped some other family may have had photos of the crew as he was only 18 I think it was his only voyage

I wonder if any of the Glasgow newspapers managed to get a photo from his parents to accompany a death notice.
