    Default George Pellington B1920 Staffordshire

    Hi ,

I am hoping to find out info on friends father George Pellington B1920c D1998c in Staffordshire

We know that he served in the Seaforth Highlanders attached to Blackwatch .
That he went to Italy , Egypt & Korea , then convalesced in Japan .
His rank was Regimental Sergeant Major about 1939c

Please can anyone shed any light on this man as we would live to know what happened to him

Well you have his date of death so you must know what happened to him!

To find his whereabouts before enlistment, you should check this recently released register.

    Hi ,

His death date is only a guestimate ,
The family fell out and his son has not spoken to him for years .
He just heard from his estranged brother ( who has all george's medals etc ) and will not show them .

    Thanks

    A guestimate? Or an assumption?

    From the GRO index:

    George Pellington
    born 29 Dec 1920
death reg Nov 1998 Stoke on Trent

If that looks to be your man, you need to get the death certificate. Easy as that!

There may also be a probate administration which you would definitely want to get if the details look right.
