Hello All.
I have a copy of a marriage announcement in a Newspaper from 1879, the marriage took place in the 'Parish Church, Sunderland'. I thought this would be a simple google to find out which church that would be, however I am not sure as there seem to be so many churches.
Can anyone tell me which church that is likely to be?
Thank you

Holy Trinity was built in 1719, so it is a possibility, and is strongly backed up by

I've broken link as rootsweb is hosted by ancestry and therefore a commercial site.Last edited by Wilkes_ml; 24-10-2015 at 6:52 PM. Reason: broken direct link

Thank you for your reply.
I want at some point to check the marriage in the archives and save the expense of a certificate as it is very much a 'maybe' however I need to rule the marriage in or out. I will post the lady in question on Brickwalls in due course as she is the subject of some debate.

"Sunderland Parish Church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, was erected in 1719, and consecrated by the Bishop of London, September 5th the same year..."
