This post should be read in close conjunction with the thread "Coleman Simmonds- Esther Jesurun" and also "Wolf Simmonds - Eve Jacobs".
This post is also for my Hauer/Simmonds/Jacobs distant cousins particularly in the USA and South America who are writing the family history on the lines.
Coleman Simmonds son of Wolf Simmonds and Esther Jacobs left England and settled in St Thomas Virgin Islands at the time part of Denmark. He left the island circa 1861 for Hamburg and died in Hamburg in 1889.
The Probate for his son Benjamin Wolf Simmonds shows- Benjamin Wolf Simmonds 21 Heinrich Barth- Strasse Hamburg Germany died 2 February 1903. Administration- Limited- to William Chamberlaine accountant to the attorney of Morris Simmonds, Leonora BAUER wife of Rudolph Bauer; Adelaide HAUER wife of Albert Hauer and Emily Robertson wife of Henry Robertson effects £72. 1s 8d.
This data enabled me to trace the children of Albert Hauer and Adelaide Simmonds- Adelaide and Lenora being daughters of Coleman Simmonds and Esther Jesurun.

The two sons of Albert and Adelaide were- Morris Alexander Hauer b Sept 3 1880 Hamburg who married Hedwig ALSBERG. They were married on 8.6.1911 Amsterdam. She was the daughter of Siegmund Alsberg and Sara Elizabeth ENTHOVEN.
Walther Benjamin Hauer b 1884 married Marie HERTZ in Amsterdam in 1912. His occupation was Koopman.
The Joods Historical Museum Amsterdam records what happened to Morris, Hedwig and Walther-
Walther Benjamin Hauer b Hamburg 3 Sept 1880- murdered Auschwitz 6 September 1944. Marie is recorded as surviving the war and 1 relative not named is also recorded as living. The address for Walther was Albrecht Durerstraat 8 huis Amsterdam.

There is a record in the Amsterdam Municipal Archives for a claim for compensation for looted securities and bonds taken from the Hauer family WW2.
Walter Herbert Hauer the son of Morris and Hedwig b Amsterdam 16 May 1914 died in Amsterdam 13 Dec 1944.

Morris Alexander Hauer murdered Sobibor 28 May 1943. Hedwig was murdered Sobibor 28 May 1943. The family address for Morris was Milletstraand 481 Amsterdam.

Further data on the Alsberg and Hauer families in Amsterdam WW2. Paula Louise Alsberg sibling of Hedwig Hauer nee Alsberg b Amsterdam 27 Sept 1892 a painter and spinster murdered Bergen-Belsen 9 February 1943. The surviving son of Morris Alexander Hauer and Hedwig Alsberg survived WW2- b Amsterdam 14 March 1912-died Hiversum North Holland and buried in Hilsum North Cemetery died 30 January 1991.
