Default Holy Trinity, Stratford Upon Avon baptisms

    Hi all,
Could anyone inform me please where I need to apply to in order to purchase a photocopy of a baptism entry dating back to 1831 which took place in Holy Trinity Church in Stratford Upon Avon.
    Thank you.

I believe that they are held by "Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Records Office"

I believe the LDS Family search site also offer a free service of sending one off copies of individual entries, though I am not sure how long it takes, or whether these are sent as digital copies. This may be a cheaper option if you require more than one entry over a period of time. Alternatively, if you do need multiple entries over an entire parish, but don't live close enough to Stratford-upon-avon to visit them directly, whole films can be ordered at a small fee to be viewed at a local LDS Family History Centre, where there is usually a microfilm printer.

That 'service' ended in December 2014.

But you can still order in films for viewing at LDS FHCs.
    Film numbers for Holy Trinity.

Finding your local FHC isn't quite as easy as it used to be.

I find the best way now is to type in the county you're living in followed by United Kingdom (though that option usually appears in a drop-down box) when you're given all the nearby ones. Then just click on the symbol.

Thank you both for such wonderful information ~ it's certainly a line of enquiry which I will follow up on.

That's a shame. Although I never used the service, I'm sure others found it very useful. I tend to go through whole films, making a record of every variation of the surnames I'm interested in, so I used to use my LDS centre which is only 20 mins drive from me. However, last time I enquired about their opening times, the days had reduced significantly as it is manned by volunteers. still very useful though.

It's great that you have both mentioned about this cos it might be a new avenue that others will find useful in the future too.
    Thank you.

That's my strategy too, and I start with the marriages so I can get the married names of the women. Then I do baptisms so find the children and finally the burials.

It can take quite a while if you have a lot of people either with your surname or marrying into it but it is worth it.
Can solve a lot of questions such as why in the 1861 census William's wife Susan aged 27 and born in Sleaford suddenly turns into Susan aged 39 born in Skegness in the 1871 census. Simple answer - Susan number one died, and William married another Susan.
