I am running FTM 2009. I have an individual with 2 wives, the first being the mother of his eldest child, the second being the mother of the subsequent 7 children. I only discovered this a long time after I had entered Wife 2 as the mother of all chn.
How can I move the eldest son (and therefore the 8 generations after him) to this Wife no 1. I don't want to delete his descendants or have to re enter them.
Thanks Stephanie

No need to remove him. Via the People menu, detach him from his current parents (both) then call up the marriage you want him in and use Attach Child (so you're treating the father as 2 different people). You will then have to pick the child out from the people index, so if you have a lot of that particular name, make sure that you remember which one is him! With a couple of names, where there's a lot of users, I sometimes alter the entry (eg insert "Change" as a middle name) before I start to make it distinctive, then change it back after I'm finished.

No, I said don't delete him. The menu has "detach" commands.
BTW, I prefer the female version of my forename!
