I am trying the find the marriage of Mary Oxberry and Ron Snook,around 1935.We know they lived on the Isle of Wight,but not sure if they married there.Thankyou.

May?She was always known as Mary.Possible error on the registration forms?

Definitely room for error in the transcribing and when the records are sent from one office to another especially if the handwritten original is not very clear - easy to miss seeing the R in Mary. Then again she may have preferred the name Mary to May
If you find the marriage on FreeBMD then click on May/Mary's name then click on the spectacles to the side of her name you can view the typed record which has May's surname recorded under the surname Oxbury as well as Oxberry.
