Hello there!
I am having a bit of trouble with a name in a will. The will is that of Robert Rushall dating to 1577.
The name in question is half way through this image; the sentence says unto my brother ? Rushall.
I think the name may be Isaac.

I think the second letter is an H, so Isaac doesn't fit. I would have said try Thomas, except the father in law is Thomas and the two words don't look very similar.pwholt

The second letter definitely looks like an old style "h" and his name ends in an "s", but looking further down the Will to where the name Thomas appears, the first letter of his brother's name could perhaps be a capital "J" rather than a "T" , so could it be an abbreviation of the name Johannes, i.e. John??

Yes, an abbreviatuon of Johannes, or John, seems most likely.
Thank you all.
