Hi,
Im trying to find out information about the husband of my grand aunt.
All I know is his name is Michael Whooley or Wholey. he was born arounf 1905 and married my grand aunt Beatrice May Cockle in 1949.

There does not appear to be a birth record in 1905, other than one in Stepney (Wholey) but that child died the same year.
Do you know when he died? There is a death registration in Bristol in 1996 with a birth date of 30 Nov 1923. There is a death record in Bristol in 1986 for Beatrice May. Do you know who registrered her death? She was born in 1921.
There is a birth in 1897 (Wholey) in Middlesborough. This is possibly the same chap who sailed to New York aged 18 in 1914.

Haven't you obtained the marriage certificate? That will tell you his father's name and age.
You need to get the death certificate which will tell you the date and place of birth.
