James Paget born Yorkshire 1790-1800

Take a look at this - I'm assuming you have Ancestry - the baptisms on the page say for example ***** dau of ***** and his wife *** dau of ****** ******, they are super records recording the child's mother's maiden name, however unfortunately the record in the link (for a Mary Paget) is very faint but I think it says mother's father's surname is CRAVEN. See what you think. It's the record third from bottom of page.

Here's my interpretation

Mary daughter of Joseph Paget Lower ??????? and his wife Ellen daughter of James Craven

Mary Paget was the aunt Craven and Ann were with in 1851.

I cannot thank you enough for your help in getting the ball rolling on this. I look forward to handing this on with due acknowledgement to you of course. All you have found makes perfect sense and indicates that the person I am helping was, indeed, on the wrong trail, taking the 1796 birth indicated on the 1841 census as correct. James death in 1841 at the age of 49 has put us on the right track.
