Recently, I decided to have another look on the brick wall about the origins of my ancestor Mary Ann Hill, and discovered what looks like the burial of one of the canditates, aged 16 in 1833.
This, along with a few other hints (the names of children, that may have been called after her siblings, plus the place where her partner in crime Mary Ann Tripp lived in 1841) makes me believe that the other candidate (daughter of David and Mary Ann) is my ancestor.
Assuming, of course, that she didn't come with her parents from somewhere else.
At any rate, I think that I am not going to get better confirmation than that, so I'm happy to go forward from this point for now.
Post to my original brick wall thread. My reasoning about the burial is in the last post in that thread.
