Profession or Occupation

Neither Acronym nor Abbreviation but has anyone come across the term House Proprietor....is that Owner?

Or can anyone offer guess at the following occupation....'P-- of Houses'. Just 2 unreadable letters after P

I'm looking at a dwelling on a 1861 Census.

Proprietor is certainly owner. The second one is almost certainly the abbreviated form.
See it as a modern landlord.
