Do South African marriage certificates not give fathers' names?

Sadly not, but death notices often do. You find the reference for his death notice from https://www.national.archives.gov.za/ by clicking on Search NAAIRS on the left, choosing RSA, then entering Henry, Edward and Heyman on different search lines. It comes up with his death notice from 1953. As it is held in the TAB Archive (Transvaal) you can order a copy to be e-mailed to you at very reasonable cost via https://www.eggsa.org/ (follow FAQ under Document Ordering on the Home Page)
