I've just had a look at the photos as it's interesting to see what the type of accommodation some of my ancestors may have lived in during their lives.

brought childhood memories back for me, shopping with Mum in Gardiners Aldgate at the end of the war. spent an ill-gotten childhood around the streets of Wapping and Limehouse, first job was in those dock's. some of those view's were still around into the 50's when major re-developement started after the war, have memories of quite a few of those places.

Oh Sue, those photos are stunning. Those scenes would have been so familiar to our ancestors.
