Not that its much use, but I came across this Birmingham Trade and Street directory on google books:

    Manchester Street, 36 Newtown Row
    No.2 Wootton, Widow

    ....think its dated 1861

    https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=D...0widow&f=false

Thought it was earlier when I started trawling through it.
I was originally looking to find mention of a Thomas Wootton Stirrup Maker to go with the baptism of Ann.
Its not impossible that Thomas could have started out as a Stirrup maker before going on to his Office work.

    Hi,

That's her. By 1871 she is lvg at no.2 Manchester St.

I agree Thomas may have changed occupations. I really wish I could find his oldest chrn's births, which hopefully would provide more information as to where Thomas originated. At least over the years I have been looking a lot more stuff has come on line, so may be if I give it a few more years the answers will come to light.

    Thanks for all your input.

    Silverdigger.
