The following data maybe of relevance regarding the Mendoza lines. You will note the Sandy's Row address which is a couple of doors away from the Jacobs if I remember.From The Jewish Victorian. Genealogical Information from the Jewish Newspapers 1871-80 transcribed and edited by Doreen Berger, 1994 Robert Boyd Publications. Death at 16 Sandy's Row Spitalfields age 55 AARON MENDOZA-Tombstone set at the Portuguese Burial Ground Mile End on Sunay March 15, 1874- his wife Brinah Mendoza; Isaac Mendoza son; Kate Mendoza daughter; Rachel ABRAHAMS daughter; Abraham ABRAHAMS son in law- these lines appear to have American connections which are not specified. There are references to Samuel GARCIA and his wife Sarah - her death 31.7.1873 at 2 Tavistock Gardens age 62 widow- not sure if relevant to you but these lines relate earlier on to Asher, Beyfus; Levy; Phillips; Simons and Engel lines through marriage. The Jacobs of Crown St; Petticoat Lane; Middlesex St; Berwick St involved in glass/china trades are mostly my Jacobs lines- cross check with the Jacobstree website.

Aaron Mendoza born 1818 died 1874 is the brother of our Amelia Jacobs nee Mendoza. Their parents were David Mendoza (1776-1846) and Hannah Jonas (1776-1863). Grandparents were Moses Aaron Mendoza (1744-1779) and Judith. All born in London, probably around the Spitafields area.
