Hi dian
I just tried searching for the marriage record again. I got one result when I entered Ann Walker, surname of spouse Ferrier - no first name. Putting in a first name Philip/Phillip won't give a result but putting in Phills as first name will.
It won't give a result if you put 1911 to 1911. It has to be either 1910 to 1911 or 1911 to 1912. Weird!
Then when it gives the single result you have to continue to the next page to buy some credits.

Thanks Christanel,
I don't have a credit card so can't buy online. Thanks for your work. I don't know if phills is a mistaken translation perhaps for Jules in old script, but then again he died 1880!
I'm getting dizzy turning in circles and inside-out.
I thought I was looking for F. Annie walker but it could be Fanny Walker. The dates 1910-1912 you give don't match for those of Fanny. And instead of looking for marriage I should perhaps be looking for divorce, prior to 1909, I think.
By the way, in which State did you look for Annie's marriage? I'm concentrating on Victoria or Western Australia. But, neither state has any record.
I wonder if standing on my head helps?

I don't think it is Annie Frances I am looking for. I'm now think it may have been a Fanny Walker married to Nicholas Sholto Terrier cica 1905-1914. And, if Fanny Walker was Fanny Bri/yant?

Fanny Bryant whose parents were Samuel Bryant and Elizabeth Chard was definitely the partner of Nicholas Terrier.
Evidence
1.Death reg 1973 for Fanny Terrier age 91 Geelong Victoria reg no 17437. Parents Samuel Bryant and Elizabeth Chard.
This makes her birth c1881
2. Australian electoral Rolls from 1914 onwards both Fanny and Nicholas together.
I can't find a marriage for a Nicholas Sholto Terrier to Fanny Bryant.
BUT this could be Fanny's first marriage
Fanny Bryant married Henry Thomas walker Victoria 1903 registration no 7589.
Then the surname Walker is connected to the surname Terrier in the marriage reg I found earlier

I wonder where you got this information. I have it too but am not convinced Jules did come from Liverpool. He is not on ships passenger list. I am following up on a Nicholas Terrier from USA or Canada.
The family's story is that Jules had changed his name at a previous time and taken his cousins name because "the gendarmes were after him". Intriguing!!! Am resigned to not knowing this story. I guess in the frenzy of boat people in the 1850's with no authority confirming their identity, they could have called themselves anything
The birth details, therefore, would be of his cousin, not him.
I have info on 2 of Jules and Sarah's deceased children. Jules George may be one of them. I'll have to find my reference
