    Default Where is this place??

I have traced my great great, great grandfather to 1911.
Michael Walsh, aged 68, living in Middlesborough was born in Ireland, finally, a census gives a clue as to where in Ireland, and I can't find where it is for the life of me. Even googling the transcripted name brings nothing.

If anyone knows what else this cold say, it is spelt out as Borchollough on the census and looks the exact same spelling on the transcription.

    Thank you!

WALSH was one of the main Mayo families, so you may well find that this could be a great asset to you.

Boherhallagh is certainly around the same area and is in the adjoining parish of Toomore to Attymass but a good search for Michaels son Thomas b.1870 in Boherhallagh or Boyhollagh has produced no results in both, or other surrounding parishs. And don't talk about Michael Walsh b.1843 Mayo as you will get loads of results, but again nothing from both of the previously mentioned parishs.
Irish genealogy is a nightmare at the best of times!

Not being able to see any censuses I don't know if they had any other children to cross reference it with.

The 1891 census at RG12,Piece 4011, Folio 85, Page 19 has Michael Walsh with wife Ellen and a boarder called Martin McNulty which would seem to match with the Ellen McNulty mentioned previously at the baptism of Thomas in 1870 at Foxford.
So well done terrysfamily with the Boherhallagh, Foxford find as this would seem to be the right place.
