This ties in with a census entry for Thomas as a 'Greenwich Pensioner'
The entries Dylan has posted can I think e disregarded as we have Thomas documented form circa 1832 - death?

Hi geneius and Lizzy, You people are brilliant. You seem to find things so quickly. I assume this to be correct.....
1861 Poplar Middlesex. RG 9; Piece: 306; Folio: 72; Page: 42;
Thomas Conner 67, superannuated Policeman, born at sea
Mary Ann Conner 64, Dover
John Conner 21, Poplar
This is the entry that I saw and thought was correct. I am slightly confused now (doesn't take much!)
So was there another Thomas Conner baptised 13th May 1818? Is this the policeman's son? Brother of John Conner.
Thanks again for the help........outstanding.

Hi Dylan, It is likely this Thomas is son of Thomas Midway (Policeman) and Mary Ann Connor, and older brother of John.
I can't say if this census is correct so far as your research is concerned as I don't know how you got back to him, but if you've traced back via certificates, censuses and parish records and can confirm Thomas Midway Connor is in your ancestry then yes, the census is correct.
Have you seen #20 posted by Coromandel? It will be worth you following it through.

Hi lizzy,
So much information so quickly, wonderful.Post 20 certainly needs to be looked at further which I will do.I remember seeing the name Midway it's so unusual to me. This does sound correct. I also found a Timothy Conner not sure where he fits in? Might be Thomas's dad?
Excellent stuff, I'm over the moon as they say........dylan

A theory could the middle name be Medway and not Midway?
If my geography serves me well and I now consider my self a northerner....there is a River in Kent named Medway, could this be the birth place of Thomas and his middle name?
The Sheerness on one side and the Isle of Grain on mouth of the River.
Just a midnight thought........
