Kathleen was the adopted daughter of James Southwell and his wife Selina and after adoption lived her entire life in Denbighshire. According to the 1911 census, where she appears as Kathleen Amethe (or Ametha), she was born about 1907 in Peterborough, and her death registration (2002) gives her date of birth as 9 June 1907.
Her life after adoption is well documented, but I wonder if anyone knows more. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you Peter, why didn't I think of it?
As Amethe was her 2nd given name and looks like a family name I ran a wildcard search for all Kathleen's born in Peterborough in 1907. Have not as yet obtained her marriage certificate; the GRO entry has her names as Kathleen A.
Thanks again

Have you considered contacting the local family history society. If you know where she married they may look at the parish records for you.
I will also ask somebody I know if she knows anything about the Southwells as she has lots of them on the tree she is researching.
