I have just been given a book about child migrants sent to Australia by Margaret Humphreys CBE.

Apparently there is also a film based on the book called Oranges and Sunshine.

Has anybody read it/seen it and will I need the tissue box beside me?

Good actors too - nice to see David Wenham and Hugo Weaving without wigs and sword/elf ears and I've always liked Emily Watson.

Its good that the story of these kids has been bought out in the open but i was disappointed in the film.

Thanks Wendy, I thought the thread was around somewhere.

While I am reading the book, which seems to be factual rather than a novel,
my thoughts are, that time has run out for most of those children now.
They have lived a life without roots, without a background, without an identity. How sad is that?
