Default Can someone explain the difference, please?

I see reference on OPC sites to Bastardy Bonds but no references to Affiliation Orders

I think I know what Bastardy Bonds were in place for but what were the repercussions for an 'alledged' father named in an Affiliation Order?

    Thanks

This leaflet from Norfolk CRO is a reasonable explanation -

A lot of 19th century newspapers have reports of courts issuing Affiliation Orders, often after a colourful/lurid hearing. The National Archives includes Affiliation Orders under the term "bastardy" and says "A bastardy or affiliation order could be made by a Quarter Sessions or Petty Sessions court, requiring the father to pay for the child's upkeep - failure to pay could result in a prison sentence."
