    Thumbs up Joseph Bebbington

    I am looking for help in tracing an ancestor JOSEPH BEBBINGTON born in 1837 ( according to census , his birth was in Belgium/Germany ). His wifes name was Amelia. I have so far been unable to trace a birth record or his parents names.

    CAN ANYBODY HELP !!!

    In 1871 Joseph has a nephew living with him, his details are ......... James Bebbington born about 1854, Salford, have you tried tracing him back through the census?

    Thankyou for the tip about 1871 census , I cannot see Joseph before this date even though it would appear that he was born in 1837, maybe he was abroad from birth until after 1861. Not knowing parents names is making hard to find out why that might be ! Maybe in the armed forces or in the diplomatic service
