The father who was the wine merchant, John Charles Bowman died in 1905. At age 13 John/Jack Bowman born Sept 2, 1893 had no father. Not sure if he ran away, but in later years he married twice. I know of no issues.

I just thought you might like to see this - If you have heard of The Grand National Steeplechase in Aintree - this baptism is right next to the course .
not long after John Charles Bowman dies - his wife has ANOTHER son ..so that must have been hard for her
Baptism: 9 Feb 1906 St Thomas, Melling, Lancashire, England
Albert Victor Bowman - [Child] of John Charles Bowman & Ursula Victoria

Ingleside ,Maghull - a very nice area and John Charles was obviously well off - why would Jack run away ?...I wonder if Ursula moved another man in ?

The age on a death certificate is not normally given by the deceased. If he was not married and had no children his friends might not have known his age accurately.
