the Toronto branch of Ontario Genealogy Society is doing a TERRIFIC job of working with the internet! Tonight's meeting was live-streamed for members who can't make the meetings, they are putting workshops etc on webinars, and setting up special interest groups. I would recommend them to anyone for how to bring societies into the internet world!

    Good morning...

Have just found this Belper site: https://www.belper-research.com/about/info.html. It looks useful. And then there's the Darley Dale FH Group (which seems to be a forum): https://www.upperdalesfhg.org.uk/index.htm.

Off now to start the day.

The Belper site could be useful, and there's also a very comprehensive one for Wirksworth (even closer to Darley Dale), which includes a lot for Derbyshire as a whole: www.
wirksworth.org.uk (not sure if the link would be acceptable here, but split just in case)

However, the Upper Dales FH Group is a red herring! Darley Dale is near Matlock (home, incidentally, of the Derbyshire Record Office) and I'm sure you knew that because of mentioning Belper. The Upper Dales FH Group is based in North Yorkshire, about 80-90 miles north of the target zone.

Thanks, I didn't know that! I am in no way familiar with Derbyshire. I just ran a very quick search and those two came up at the top of the list. So - many apologies for serving up a red herring for breakfast.
