I appreciate the help in the previous posts - but - I still "like" Mary Simmons. Here's why:
John was baptised in Kingsbury 29 May 1704
Mary was baptised in Mancetter -5 Oct. 1701

    Married in Kingsbury - 24 Dec. 1725

1st baptism was Mary on 2 Oct. 1726 in Churchover and so were 3 othe baptisms.

Mary married in Mancetter 7 Aug. 1748

Kingsbury to Mancetter - 7 miles approx
Mancetter to Churchover - 18 miles approx
Kingsbury to Churchover - 28 mile approx.

Places seem to me to fit. Maybe I'm pushing my luck.

Just thinking out of the box.....

How about Newbold on Avon 3.8 miles from Churchover? Walking distance also fits in with Sarah bp 1722!

    Marriage Date:
    1721
    Marriage Place:
    Newbold on Avon, Warwickshire, England

    John Wright Spouse:Mary Smith

All I really know for sure is that Frances Wright the daughter of of John and Mary is my 5X ggm.
    She married Mr ROUTLIDGE

Actually she married John Rowledge in Churchover 11 Dec. 1758. His name in parish register is written as ROWLIDGE. From what I have been given to understand he was buried in Vhurch Lawford 5 Feb. 1808 and his wife Mary was buried 28 Nov. 1814.

If you are correct about his marriage in Newbold on Avon and sibling Sarah then I have a lot of editing to do on my tree.

Rightly or wrongly I think that I am going to leave tracing the ancestry of Frances Wright for the time being. I will admit that while I like the idea of Mary Smith as the wife of John Wright and mother of Sarah, try as I might with the limited resources available to me I cannot reconcile these folks as parents and siblings of my Frances.
