Default Mary Woodworth (born around 1849)

I am trying to find out about the family of my 3x great grandmother. Here is what I know thus far:

On the 23 January 1860 she married Charles Chesworth (1824-1904) in Malpas, Cheshire. Her name is given as Mary Woodworth the daughter of a labourer called Thomas Woodworth. The marriage entry wrongly gives Charles the borthdate of 1835, and Mary's birthdate is given as 1837. Both were living in Bickerton.

So I turned to the census for clues and have the following information for Mary:

1861 - born in about 1838 in Marbury, Cheshire.
    Class: RG 9; Piece: 1890; Folio: 84; Page: 6

1871 - born in about 1842 in Whitchurch, Shropshire.
    Class: RG10; Piece: 2796; Folio: 27; Page: 16

1881 - born in about 1841 in Tilstock, Shropshire.
    Class: RG11; Piece: 2671; Folio: 95; Page: 14

1891 - born in about 1841 in Whixall, Shropshire.
    Class: RG12; Piece: 2125; Folio: 176; Page: 4

1901 - born in about 1848 in Whixall, Shropshire.
    Class: RG13; Piece: 2556; Folio: 75; Page: 9.

1911 - born in about 1842 in Whixall, Shropshire.
    Class: RG14; Piece: 16239; Schedule Number: 9

This is as far as I have got as I have been unable to find anybody called Mary Woodworth born between 1838 and 1842 in either the 1841 or 1851 census. I have found no BMD entry for her either. So I was just wondering if anybody might be able to help me to discover her family?

    Many thanks.

    Hello Noytd,

Have you considered this birth registration?

May Ann WOODWORTH, Northwich registration district (this covered Marbury), September quarter 1850, volume

Many thanks for the quick reply. My only doubt about the 1850 birth is that it would make her 9 years old when she got married? I have just done a 1851 census check on the 1850 Mary and I can confirm that she is not my Mary.

I have wondered if perhaps the surname might be slightly wrong. I did find the WOODWARD family in 1861 in Whixall - which includes a father called Thomas and a son called Edwin (a name that was used within the family). But alas I wasn't able to link my Mary to them.

Drat! Sorry - I misread the dates.

As all of the censuses from 1871 to 1911 inclusive give her place of birth as Whixall, Shropshire, I am wondering if the one born in Marbury could be a red herring. Being born 1841/2 is much tighter than throwing 1838 into the equation.
