    Red face Margaret Ann Parsloe

My grandmother Margaret Ann Parsloe (nee Cornthwaite) was living on the Isle of Man in Castletown during the 1950's with her son Arthur Parsloe. I am having difficulties finding any records for her death or know the whereabouts for Arthur Parsloe (dob 1902).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello,

The Isle of Man births, marriages and deaths are not in the GRO index, but have a look at post #3 in the Isle of Man Sticky.

We have identified the family in the 1911 census. Thank you. What is a DM?

A DM is a direct message that only you can see,at one time we weren't able to put 1911 census info on site because of copyright, think we can now!

What do you think about the possible death reg? I have seen that info has been duplicated on your other post.

The last we knew Maragret Parsloe was living on the Isle of Man, so we expected that she would have died there. Her son Arthur lived with her there but so far we have not been able to trace information on either of them

There was a Margaret A Parsloe, aged 80, who sailed to New York on the Britannic, arriving 7 July 1951. The address she was said to be travelling to was Ridgewood Blvd North, Washington T'ship, North Bergen, N.J. There is also an incoming passenger list for a Margaret Parsloe, aged 71 (so one of the ages is wrong) on the same ship, arriving September 1951, with the home address given as 19 Tynwald Grove, Castleton, isle of Man.

Did Arthur have a son Arthur? There is a death registered in the American Social Security Indexes for an Arthur Parsloe, dob 25 May 1928. who died Jan 1982. Last residence: 07026 Garfield, Bergen, New Jersey, United States of America

The 1930 census for Hudson, New Jersey also reveals a Frederick Parsloe (51), born England, who emigrated 1883

Looks as though Margaret was visiting family in New Jersey

Do not have an Arthur nor a Frederick. We understand now that Walter Joseph Parsloe left his family and children in England and started a new life in the States but have no knowledge of the new family. Presumably his mother Margaret Parsloe was visiting this family.
