I am having trouble finding some marriage records for Roch, Pembrokeshire my 5x great Grandfather was David John a farmer from Roch and his wife was Janet Nicholas, and the two had ten children from 1788 to 1813, three of his sons James,William and Samuel I know about but the other eight I can find nothing and as I do not have access right now to any census records it is difficult and wondered if anyone has any information about the further children or maybe knows any websites where I can find Roch parish records, the other children were;
Thomas John (20/4/1788, Roch-1872 in Narbeth, Pembrokeshire I believe)
Mary John (1796, Roch)
David John (1802, Roch)
Peter John (21/4/1805, Roch)
Henry John (1/11/1807, Roch)
Stephen John (8/7/1810, Roch)
Lettice John (4/7/1813, Roch)
I have read the will of David John who died in Roch in 1835 and the only children he mentions in his will are two of his sons David John and William John as witnesses to his will I believe he leave everything he has to his wife so there is no clues in there, so any help given on this will be greatley welcomed.
Kind Regards
Beth

I would like to know about my 3x grt grandfather, William John(s) born at Roch in Pembrokeshire in 1941, who was orphaned early and brought up by his paternal grandmother Janet John and aunt Lettice. It sounds like the same family. Do you know whether any of the sons of David John you know about died after having a son called William?
Thanks,
gayle g

I could only find one son for David that was a John John born in Roch in Roch, so he could be the man you are looking for, I couldn't find him in any of the census records which sort of fits with you're William being orphaned and why I couldn't find him because John had died.
Hope this helps you Gayle.

Thanks Beth. My message should have been clearer. I meant to ask if you knew whether any of the sons of David John and Janet Nicholas (you say there were eight sons) had a son called William. We can rule out David as you know that his son was John. Alternatively do you know whether any of those sons you list died in young adulthood? Great if you can respond to me again. Thanks.

Yes David and Janet did have a son named William born in Roch in 1793, who I believed married an Anne and had atleast one son named William in 1817 in Haverfordwest.
