Could someone please help?
I have found my gg grandmother Elizabeth living in Merthyr Tydfil in1861 with her second husband John Mostyn. She had previously been married to John Davies(my gg grandfather)and was a widow when she married John Mostyn.
I know her maiden name was Bonner and she was born in Carmarthen c1818.The only possible I have found is for a baptism for an Elizabeth Bona in 1817 in St Peters,Carmarthen. Her parents are given as John and Elizabeth Bona.I do know my Elizabeth's father was John Bonner(a carpenter)as I have her marriage cert for her first marriage to John Davies.
Does anyone have this family in their tree or any info regarding them?
I would be so grateful for any help.

Re the baptism of the 1st Elizabeth Bona (previously posted) should read 28/5/1815 NOT 18/5/1815. Also found an Elinor Bona, born 2/1/1820, bapt 13/2/1820 buried 26/9/1822 (IGI extracted - not FHS source)
Burials St Peter's Carmarthen (Carmarthenshire FHS)
Margaret Bona, 15/3/1803
Anne Bona, 17/03/1812
Elizabeth Bona, 4/9/1817, Water Street
Eleanor Bona, 26/9/1822, Water Street (birth 2/1/1820, bapt 13/2/1820)
Margaret Bona, 29/10/1823, Water Street, age 18
John Bona, 1/8/1827, Water Street, age 55
Elizabeth Bona, 27/6/1832, Goose Street, age 58
Elizabeth Bona, baptised 28/5/1815, is buried on 4/9/1817 - and the same day Elizabeth Bona is baptised. What an awful experience for the whole family.

Baptism's St Peter's Carmarthen (Carm FHS)
John Bona, 26/4/1772, father Edward - possibity for your Elizabeth's father? Wd be 24 in 1796 when a John Bona married Elizabeth Jones
Note - mother's name tended to be omitted in 18th C baptisms (making tracing so difficult). Can't find a baptism or marriage for an Edward in St Peter's.
Hope this helps

Probably nothing, but might as well throw these in for you!
Thomas Bona of Llanfihangel Aber Arth married Ann Howell 3 June 1763 at Abergwili Parish Church.
Following marriages all at St Eli Parish Church, Llanelli:
Edward Robert marr Ann Bonnell 9 Feb 1796
Hendry Richard marr Jane Bonnell 12 Feb 1799
Thomas Samuel marr Mary Bonel 12 Jan 1802
Evan Harry marr Elizabeth Bonnel 22 Oct 1811

Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner.Thank you both so much for the information and going to the trouble of finding it.I was beginning to give up on this part of the family so I am pleased to have something more to go on.
Thanks again Mag
