    Default what's money worth?

In the past I have wills that mention various amounts so I was wondering....

What would be todays value for a £20 inheritance in 1800?

    and

What would todays value be for £100 for roughly the same period?

It isn't as simple as you'd think, because the relative values of things and the kind of things people purchase vary so much over time. One age's luxury is another's necessity.
