Default Another stupid question from moi.

When a couple divorce, the daughter's relationship to her parents doesn't change - but how about her ex-husband? Is he still a son-in-law, ex son-in-law or just a 'mistake their daughter made"?

    Just curious.

"Slug" is a term that has been used.......

However, as far as a certain lawyer is concerned, the term "former son-in-law" should be used.

    I hope that this helps.

I would agree with Jan that "former" would be the most common usage.

So do I --- but slug sounds 'cool' except I don't like the sight of blood, particularly when it is my own.

With close friends and family, I still like 'a Mistake our daughter made"!!

(I won't speak ill of the dead, except to say the world is a better place now)

Colin, slugs leave a trail of slime, not blood, your thinking of leeches.

How about if they divorce, then re-marry, then split up, then he has a sex change.
    Would he/she be the ex,ex,son-now-ex-daughter-in-law

I'd call that a disaster gone bad and good riddance!
