The will of Thomas Nixon, late Merchant, now President of the Benevolent Society of Blues and a Governor of Christs Hospital of Saint Mary Newington, Surrey was proved in the PCC on 1 February 1844.

This can be downloaded direct from Documents Online for £3.50.

It's 15 pages, so it will keep you busy for a while.

Sadly, Fanny also died before 1851, buried at Kensal Green aged 65 on 13 January 1848, from 5 Canterbury Row, Newington.

Fanny's will was also proved in the PCC, on 16 February 1848.

Many thanks for these links. I see from further look at Barings archive that Thomas NIXSON had a son Francis, and a grandson Thomas.
Also the additional info. below seems to confirm the identity of Nixson being the subject of your search.
1844 11 Nov, London: SF Miller, solicitor, to Barings
Settlement of the will of Thomas Nixson, (d 23 Sep 1843); a fund
for his children from money invested in Barings

The deceased apparently a man of substance, importance, probably unrelated to my branch of enquiry but one to bear in mind too.

Haven't found any Carlisle/Cumbrian connection in the immediate NIXSON family, as yet, except that this 1841 entry says he was not born in Surrey.

    Fascinating!

Isn't it amazing how the past can be brought to life? I don't recognise any of the other names in these NIXSON details, unfortunately. So perhaps I have sent you on a wild goose chase, but simply by revealing this background to these players, we get an enticing view of Newington Butts in their times.
A wonderful site, with enthusiastic and skilled participants at work here, many thanks for all your efforts in bringing it into the daylight.
