Are you able to provide any more information to get going? Devon and Cornwall are both large counties

Does your chap turn up in any census returns?

Did he emigrate and if so do you know when?

Were either of the marriages after the start of civil registration in July 1837 so that you can get marriage certificates? (Marriage certificates should include name and occupation of fathers which is useful).

Any idea what your chap did for a living?

There may be records online to assist - Do use a search engine to look for online parish clerks - search for 'Cornwall OPC' and also 'Devon OPC'.
