'Beachville' was formerly 'Beach House' in Brighton Road, Lancing. It was an Old Peoples' Home or Retirement Homes.

Dear Mutley
thanks for the info - Now that seems a bit odd - the details I have are that the normal place of residence for this person was Edmonton House in Edmonton, Middlesex but the death is recorded as Beachville - how and why would a 35 year old end up in this type of place? Any thoughts?

If you google Beach House Estate it seems to have had several uses (possibly a hospital) before being turned into a leisure park.
I think that Edmonton House may have been the workhouse so perhaps when that closed he transferred elsewhere remembering that workhouses were also infirmaries.
What was the cause of his death?

Dear Mutley and Kerrywood
He died of
(a) Cardiac Failure
(b) Acute Bronchitis
This section states no P.M. and certified by Ernest ~W Grahame M.B.
It also states under Occupation
Of Edmonton House
Edmonton
Middlesex
Of no occupation
The informant was B M Keeler –
Can anyone check out the local records office for me please to see if there are any newspaper reports - it would be so sad if he was all alone with no one to look after him to take him home and give him a decent funeral - that will be another queston - what happened to him and where is his final resting placee so that I can go and visit on behalf of his cousins that lost touch with him
- It seems the harder I did the more barriers are put up
Thank you
Angelcake
It also seems Edmonton House was a Workhouse

As explained in your other thread, Edmonton House was formerly part of the workhouse system. But by 1933 it would have been a public assistance institution. It had its own infirmary, which after 1948 became the North Middlesex Hospital.
I would suggest that your man might have become ill while resident at Edmonton House and, on presumed recovery, was sent by them to convalesce at a seaside home in Sussex. That sort of thing was a standard practice at urban institutions.
Sadly, it seems his illness got the better of him and he suffered a heart attack whilst there.
It's just supposition, but it seems feasible.

It seems back then, that TB and Bronchitis were very common ailments, often fatal.
After spending a lot of time running around google, I can only agree with Kerrywood. Her supposition, is very feasible.
I doubt there would be a newspaper report. It was a common occurrence and not newsworthy as such. Your best bet would be to follow Peter's advice on the other thread regarding the workhouse at Edmonton. The discharge records may help you.
