Default David & Sarah MURRAY or NAINBY Southwark 1871

This family, found in St. Saviour, Southwark, in 1871, may be Romany. Are they your family?

34 Elsted (?) Street, St. Mary Newington, St. Saviour Southwark, 1871 census

"David [or might be Charles?] MURRAY [or might be NAINBY?], Head, Mar., 46 [or 45?], Basket Maker (traveller in Caravan), [born] Surrey, St. Georges

    Sarah " , Wife, " , 43, [born] Kent, Becksley

    Sarah Ann " , dau, 18
    Elizabeth " , " , 17
    Charlette " , " , 15
    Fanny " , " , 13
    William " , son, 9
    Walter [or Arthur?] " , " , 3
    Emily " , dau, 7

All the children's names are enclosed in a big } with the word Unknown written in the Birthplace column.

Curiously, the family shares No. 34 Elsted Street with one William HERROCKS [or HARKNESS], "Lawyer" and his wife Caroline and four children. Seems a strange combination.

As you see from all the alternatives in square brackets above, various transcribers (and I) are not always in agreement as to the original writing.

The census ref is RG10/619/123. Hope this is of help to someone--I know those travellers are hard to find.

And following on from what Jane has found, could this be his baptism at St Mary, Rotherhithe:

Born 27 December 1824, bap 18 January 1826 David MURRAY son of Charles & Martha, Brewhouse Yard Bermondsey, Basket Maker

    Siblings:

Born 14 February 1819?, bap 28 October 1821 Sarah Ann MURRAY daughter Charles & Martha, Cherry Garden Street, Basket Maker
Born 11 May 1821, bap 28 October 1821 William Charles MURRAY son of Charles & Martha, Cherry Garden Street, Basket Maker
Born 2 January 1828, bap 9 October 1829 Martha MURRAY daughter of Charles & Martha, Matilda Place Bermondsey, Basket Maker

all at St Mary Rotherhithe in case anyone is looking for this family. Could the 1871 entry read C David MURRAY perhaps after his father Charles?

I haven't looked at the entry but William Herrocks/Harkness is probably a sawyer rather than a lawyer.
