    Hi Geoff

I am wondering about the Ann Williams marriage as the only one I can see is in 1784 and that might be a bit early to be parents to John Reed hawk b 1807. Did you find it in the Cornwall OPR?

I can't see any likely marriages so far.

    Hi again
searching Cornwall County Council archives online catalogue https://crocat.cornwall.gov.uk/DServe/searchpage.htm will bring up some land settlements etc

Keying in John Hawk as search term brings the will already found and also the will of the John Hawk who died 1828 – who I hope is John Reed Hawke’s father. So that is one I would look at.

Hi Nightshift, can you help Geoff/and me! by finding the family re my post*12 on 1841/1851 census?
Eastcott/Cornwall is the link to this family, I believe.
See also Geoff's " Serle" thread for examination.
    Thanks

Another record which would be of interest is the St Dominick tithe map and apportionment of 1842 ref P50/27/1 held at Cornwall Records office (from online catalogue). Should I think show Eastcott and the land John Reed Hawke owned at the time in that parish.

I have come on something interesting about John Reed Hawke junior. My library ticket lets me look up old newspapers online and when I keyed in John Reed Hawke there was a court report from 1867. Not sure if I am allowed to copy it. John R was engaged to a Miss Pengellly. (Thomasine) Her father a farmer at Stokeclimsland. She became pregnant and her dad gave them accommodation till they could find a house. After the baby was born they married. However John never paid his father in law the rent he owed and so was taken to court.

In the 1881 census Thomasine and 4 of her children are at Downend Stokeclimsland. RG11 piece 2278 folio 60 p21. (and not at Eastcott with John R) Assume was family farm. In 1891 it looks as though she may be in Truro under Tomesson but I haven’t checked that one so I don’t know if with or without John R

    1891 RG12/1809/23/40
    Hingston, Reg Dist Liskeard
Thomasine 45 Married Living on own means
    Mary A dau 25 b Stoke Climsland
    Annie 15 dau b Calstock
    George son 8 b Callington
    Edith dau 4 b Callington

In the 1881 Thomasine is down as farmer's wife. In this, 1891, just as married.
