GILMOUR

Looking for GILMOUR ancestors in Ayrshire. My 3 x great-grandfather William Gilmour was born in Muirkirk on 18 August 1817, his parents were John Gilmour and Anne Johnston. I only have their names.

William married Margaret FOOTE on 22 June 1845 in 'Old Monkland or Coatbridge'. One of his children Robert Gilmour was born in Carluke, Lanarkshire and later lived in the East End of Glasgow where my grandmother was born, so William and famiy migrated north from Muirkirk.

Any information concerning the Gilmour family in Muirkirk, or elsewhere in Ayrshire, would be appreciated.
