My 3 x great-grandfather was Duncan Fraser, Master Blacksmith, born, lived, married and died in Killin, Perthshire. Baptised 24 January 1783, married 18 July 1807, died 15 February 1967. He married Katharine Robertson, later recorded as Catherine, but I know nothing about her. She was not on the 1841 census so presumably died before then. Duncan lived and died at Monemore Smithie House, Killin.

They had 8 children, that I know of, born in Killin:

John baptised 12 April 1808. Blacksmith, Emigrated to Quebec, Canada early 1830s. Last known to be alive 1839 4th child born 1840.
William baptised 23 March 1810 Emigrated to Montreal, Canada about 1834, became a doctor
Robert bpt 25 Jan 1812. Blacksmith on 1841 census. Cannot find him after that
Margaret bpt 14 April 1815. Married in Stirling
Duncan bpt 21 Oct 1817. Have found no more about him
Donald bpt 3 Feb 1819. My gt.gt.grandfather. Was a teacher then later a railway clerk in Stirling. Married his first wife in Stirling, as Daniel Fraser, his second wife as David. Later Donald. Died Stirling 1880
Elizabeth bpt 24 April 1821 . Have found no more about her
Janet born 1828/29. No baptism record found. Died 1902 at River View House, Killin..

I wonder if their mother Katharine Robertson died after Janet's birth, hence no baptism.

Janet Fraser married Alexander McFarlane born Fortingall. Master blacksmith, he appears to have inherited Janet's father's blacksmith's business at Monemore, Killin, which continued in the family until the 1920s. Alexander McFarlane died 1902, 3 months after Janet's death.

My 3 x great-grandfather Duncan's parents were John Frazer/Fraser, also a Blacksmith, and Janet Buchanan. (Possibly later MacMillan) When Duncan was baptised they were apparently living in Ballechroisk, a stone's throw from Killin. That is all I have found about them.
Duncan's siblings all born Killin were:

Margaret baptised 3 Aug 1784
Katharine bpt 25 Jan 1787
Isabell bpt 28 June 1789
John bpt 14 April 1791
Mary bpt 8 Oct 1793

If anyone has connections to the names mentioned or can offer any advice I would love to hear from them. Thank you for reading.
