The Ancient Capital of Scotland: The Story of Perth from the Invasion of Agricola to the Passing of the Reform Bill, Volume 2 By Samuel Cowan
Does anyone have access to this book?
On page 244 there is a reference to the marriage between Henry Crawford and the daughter of James Paton, late minister of Kettins and I am interested seeing what the full context is and what else can be gleaned from this passage.
Thanks
daryl

Thanks Hugh
I now have the full text of interest :-
"also on 4th February he married at Newtyle, Henry Crawford, younger of Monorgan, clandestinely without proclamation of banns, to the
daughter of James Paton, late minister of Kettins, Crawford being under scandal and contumacious to the discipline of the Church. It does not appear what was the result of this prosecution."
It was difficult to see what was hinted at from the snippet available "Crawford being under scandal ..." - and now I know, and have the context
Thanks again
